Mulan is trying to bring honor to her family by going to the match maker, but failed.
Call to adventure
The Huns and their leader Shan Yu invade China and Mulan's father must go to war. However, Mulan goes in her fathers place because he is weak and does not want him to die.
Assistance
Mushu, Cricket and the horse Khan guide her and help her act like a man.
Departure
Mulan leaves her home to go to the training base disguised as a man.
Trials
Mulan cannot do difficult training, so Shang tells her to go home, but she proves him wrong by climbing a pole to the top with weights. The army led by Shang sees a destroyed village and they discover Shang's father and his army are dead.
Approach
Mulan sees the Hun army on the mountain and creates an avalanche to stop them.
Crisis
Mulan gets stabbed by Shan Yu and everyone figures out she is a female and she is left behind. Through this she finds out some of the Huns, including Shan Yu, survived.
Treasure
Mulan comes up with a plan with Shang, Ling, Chien-Po, and Yao and defeats the Huns and kills Shan Yu to save the emperor. From this, she receives the Emperor's crest and Shan Yu's sword.
Result
The Emperor bows to her and so does the rest of China.
Return
After defeating the Huns, Mulan returns to her home and brings her father Shan Yu's sword and the Emperor's crest to show what she has done for China and how she has brought honor to her family.
New Life
Mulan has confidence in herself and everything she did has brought honor to her family. She can be herself and she learns that sometimes you can't follow the expectations of society inorder to make a name for yourself.
Resolution
Her family is proud no matter what. Shang returns her father's armor and he is now a part of her life.
